  1. What insurances does Lexington Neurosciences Center accept?

  3. How long will my visit take?
The time needed for your visit can vary depending upon the reason for your visit, whether or not you will need additional testing, and how much time is needed to thoroughly evaluate your complaints. We usually allow at least 30-45 minutes for your first consultation with the doctor. If you are scheduled for testing before or after you see the doctor, this can add an additional hour or so to your visit.

  5. Does Lexington Neurosciences Center have a payment plan if I can’t afford to pay all of my out-of-pocket costs at once?
Yes, Lexington Neurosciences Center offers flexible payment plans designed to fit your budget. Please call our office and ask to speak with a billing clerk if you would like to make payment arrangements. Lexington Neurosciences Center also offers discounts to patients without insurance, if they prefer to pay the entire amount at the time of the visit.

  7. Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
Some insurance plans require a referral. If your plan requires a referral, it is your responsibility to obtain it prior to your visit. Lexington Neurosciences Center prefers that patients being seen for neurological reasons (headache, seizures, neuropathy, etc) be referred by their primary care or other treating physician. We do not require a referral to be seen in our sleep disorders clinic.

  9. How do I obtain a refill on my prescription?
We are open from 8:30-4:30 daily and are pleased to take refill requests by phone during that time. After hours, you may leave a message on our answering machine for us to address the next business day. Please do not wait until you are completely out of medication to request a refill. All refill requests are given to the physicians at the end of the day, and you may check with your pharmacy after 4:30 pm to confirm that your prescription has been called in. Please do not page the physicians through the medical exchange, as this service is for after-hour emergencies only and is not able to take routine refill requests.

  11. My child is 17 years old. Do I need to accompany him/her to the appointment?
Yes. We legally cannot see anyone under eighteen without a parent or guardian present. If your underage child comes to his/her visit alone, it will be necessary for us to reschedule the visit until a time when you can be present. We cannot make any exceptions to this policy.

  13. Is your facility handicap-accessible?
Yes. We have several handicap parking spaces located in the front and rear of our building. Our restroom facilities are handicap-accessible, and our sleep center has a suite with a handicap-accessible bath/shower. Our building is completely compliant with the regulations set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  15. How do I get my lab results?
We make every effort to contact patients with their lab results. We keep a log of all tests ordered and it is reviewed weekly to ensure that we have received all results and all patients have been notified. If you have not been contacted either by phone or mail regarding your lab results within a week after the test was done, please call our office so that we may contact the testing facility to request your results.

  17. How do I get the results of testing done in your office?
NCV/EMG and EEG results are available immediately after the test. If you are being seen by one of our physicians after the test, he or she will review the test with you at that time. If you are not being seen by our physicians, your test results will be faxed and mailed to your ordering physician the same day, and he or she will notify you of the results. Sleep study results may take 2-3 days. This is because the technician must score the test, the physician reviews it the following day, and the final report is then generated. Normally, we see every sleep patient in follow-up within a week after the test, and results are discussed at that time. If the preliminary results of the sleep study show severe sleep apnea, we may contact you to arrange treatment prior to your follow-up visit.
